Port Craig
The site of a 1920s timber mill and town. The only remaining historic building is the school, which is now a converted Department of Conservation hut for trampers. A self-guided heritage trail takes visitors around relics of the town and mill site. The Percy Burn viaduct (2 hours walk west from Port Craig) is a spectacular site.
Access:
7 hour each way walk from the start of the Hump Ridge Track – Bluecliffs Beach
